Stephane Rondel Modern 90's corkscrew A very cool and rare little piece of usable modern art. I believe it is made of aluminum or a similar metal. It looks like a bird to me. Stamped: Rondel Flaws, some corrosion on the metal here and there, could possibly be made nice and bright if cleaned. Please zoom in on pics for the best idea of condition. When you remove the corkscrew from its stand it makes a pleasant metal tinging sound. About the Designer: French-born Stephane Rondel created some of New Zealand's most iconic furniture and design objects during the late 20th Century. His talent led to furniture commissions for the Élysée Palace in Paris and large scale, award-winning design projects in New Zealand. In the 90's and early 2000's Rondel's work was coveted not only locally but also internationally. The curvaceous 'Peanut' chair is Rondel's most iconic and collectable design.
