Description
This is an approximately circa 2001 French-made professional chef quality mandolin introduced to home kitchens by the family-owned Matfer company, very well-regarded makers of bakery and kitchen equipment and is a useful tool for slicing a variety of foods from carrots and cabbage to lemons and potatoes. The black frame and safety guard/pusher are made of heat resistant nonporous composite fiberglass. The two-sided slicing blade is crafted from high carbon stainless steel. It has both a straight edge and serrated edge that creates crinkle and waffle cuts. The stainless steel guiding plate located on the upper section of the mandolin, adjusts to vary the thickness of the vegetable/fruit slices to a 3/8” maximum. The frame unfolds for easy use and has four rubber feet for stability and a handle at the top for left and right handed users. The safety guard or pusher protects user’s hands from the blade. Weight: 3 lbs. 7 oz. Dishwasher safe. Condition: Very good gently used (once!) condition. Mild dust and grime from storage for 20 or more years. Treat the blade like a very sharp knife. No accessories such as julienne blades are included. No box.
