VG - EX. Lot of three items (2 ticket stubs + 1 program) pertaining to Long Island University’s championship basketball run under Hall of Fame coach Clair Bee from 1939 - 1941. The 1938-39 LIU team went undefeated (23 - 0) and then swept through the NIT to become National Champions. The 1939-40 team went 19 - 4 during the regular season, but were defeated by DePaul in the NIT. Finally, in 1940-41 LIU went 25 - 2 and once again swept through the NIT field to claim their second National Championship in three years. The package includes: 1. 12/30/1938 ticket stub - Madison Square Garden - regular season game Long Island U. Vs. USC. 2. 3/2/1940 - Program from double-header at Saratoga Springs, NY - Long Island vs. St. Lawrence / Niagara vs. Sienna. Large 16 page (including covers) program. 3. 1941 NIT ticket stub (unsure of exact date) Eastern Elimination games. Long Island U. Was the eventual champion of the eight team field, which also included Ohio, Seton Hall and CCNY as semi-finalists.
