VG. December 19, 1942 - Madison Square Garden. College Basketball Doubleheader ticket stub. NYU defeated Syracuse 38 -31 in the opening game; St. John’s defeated Oklahoma 51 - 34 in the nightcap. St. John’s went on to win its first NIT Championship that season - defeating Rice, Fordham and Toledo in the Tournament quarters, semi’s and finals respectively.
